So it’s now 2010, and it’s time for some overdue blogging. Not that there has been a lack of blogging, it’s all just been for clients. So here is a quick roundup to kick off the new year.
First and foremost is the launch of CincyVoices, a new hyperlocal web effort based on my work with HumidCity in New Orleans for the past five years. For the past few weeks I’ve been building it up, the Flickr community for photo sharing, Twitter, and the ubiquitous Facebook page.
The past few weeks I’ve been digging through the local blogosphere building both my team of bloggers and my links list. This afternoon it launched (a soft launch) with over six hundred people following the Facebook page already! So here is to the power of hyperlocal web driven community! We’re about to see how well the lessons of the past four years translate when brought from the Crescent City to the Queen City.
So contact and connection are my themes for the year, hardly original ones for someone in my line, but basic and vital ones nonetheless. With that as an axiom let’s take a look at some of the other things that follow that theme lately.
- New Media Cincinnati kicked off its first meeting of 2010, my second since hitting town, and did so with a crowd. The details can be found on New Medi Cincinnati’s recap post so I’ll direct you there for text, links and video. [A HUGE shout out to the Dangerous Ladies of Social Media (tm), next time I'll bring the pirate flag!]
- Following the social dynamic: Michelle Beckham, alligator, and yours truly. (Yes, this one involves a recipe.)
- Twlefth Night was Jan 6. Carnival Season has officially started. That means connecting with friends back home soon!
Back soon, I’ve got a few pots to stir and some spice to add to the mix…

Looking forward to what 2010 holds! Thanks for sharing your thoughts over here. And, in case I haven’t said it enough already, we’re grateful to have you here in Cincinnati!
